Ai Pono Hawaii is the longest running and most comprehensive eating disorder treatment program in the State of Hawaii.

With over 35 years of clinical experience in the field, we are incredibly proud to have helped dozens of women fully recover from eating disorders.

Ai Pono Maui is a Residential Treatment Center specializing in the treatment of women with eating disorders licensed by the State of Hawaii Department of Health. All treatment at ‘Ai Pono Maui is provided under the supervision of a licensed physician credentialed by the medical staff to practice in their area of medical training and specialization with registered nurses onsite on a continuous basis.

Our program was designed by Dr. Anita Johnston, a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) and Approved Supervisor through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), and treatment practices are evidence-based, incorporating the collective wisdom of highly skilled and experienced eating disorder treatment professionals.

Ai Pono Maui has earned Behavioral Health Care Accreditation Program from The Joint Commission. As part of this process, Ai Pono Maui underwent rigorous on-site surveys during which expert surveyors evaluated compliance with standards related to key concepts of person-centered health care to support recovery and resilience philosophies. The certification demonstrates Ai Pono Maui’s commitment to the behavioral health care services in the treatment of women with eating disorders.
